Toshiba Satellite P50t Vs Apple MacBook laptops
Before reaching any conclusion, we first need to take a look on the last few years’ sale records of Apple laptops:
Both Apple MacBook Air and Pro laptops are the ubiquitously accepted computing devices. It has already been proven by the last five years reports. Notably, the sale of Apple’s desktop and notebook PCs, has surpassed the growth in the overall PC market by 24.7 percent.
Though the overall PC market has been declining in the last few quarters yet the Apple, in this first quarter, drew record sale of 4.8 million units of Macs and MacBook Air. Moreover, Apple in 4th quarter of 2013 too gained 13.7 percent of market share, which is 4 percent higher than 9.7 percent market share of earlier year’s same quarter.
Here the question is, does the new Toshiba 4K laptop is better than top-of-the-line MacBook computers from Apple? Will Toshiba be able to convince the customer that its new Satellite P50t is better than its strongest rival? Let us see:
Hurdles in the success of Toshiba laptop
Though there is no question that new Toshiba notebook has been a masterpiece product, however in that respect are some considerable hitches that may refrain consumers’ attraction of this device:

#1 Price of Toshiba Satellite
Toshiba has not disclosed the price of P50t Notebook up to now. But as you know it is a high-end device with powerful graphics and processing capabilities, hence anticipated to cost very high. It means the laptop would remain isolated from a large customer segment that seeks for the mid or low price computers. However, the same factor is also applicable for Apple notebooks too.
So, if the upcoming Toshiba laptop prices lesser than Apple notebooks, it can really take on its contenders.
#2 Which is the top choice of customers?
Above sales report of MacBook Air and Pro shows it very clearly that Apple already has a well-established image in the market. Today, an Apple product is the topmost choice for many customers. Usually this customer segment waits eagerly for the arrival of company’s fresh upgrades. Changing their opinion about Apple MacBook is a very tedious task for Toshiba.
#3 Upcoming new Apple MacBook upgrades
As per the latest accounts, “Soon, Apple is going to bring a new touchscreen line of both - MacBook Pro and Air models in market”. It can be the biggest hurdle for Toshiba in convincing customers to choose its laptop over Apple products.
Despite above all facts, we can’t completely ignore the best features and specs of new Toshiba laptop.
Some convincing reasons in the favour of Toshiba laptop
#1 Targeted consumers
After going through the features of Toshiba Satellite laptop, you can easily find out that the device is targeted at the top level professional customers. It can attract the engineers, IT professionals, photographers, architects as well as 3D and CADD designers. Notably, both Apple and Toshiba have to compete directly for the aforementioned customer segment that can spend extravagantly for the best in the industry.
#2 The 4K UHD screen resolution
It is presumed that the 4K UHD display of Toshiba can be the turning point for the computer industry. Though at last year’s Computex 2013, Asus too, launched many incredible devices such as 10.1 inch Asus Transformer Books Pad TF701T with UHD and Miracast video streaming but it offers only 2560 x 1,600 pixels resolution.
But With 4K Ultra HD display, Satellite P50t notebook offers four times the resolution of full HD thus, which supersedes the higher resolution of MacBook notebooks.
#3 Larger display than Apple MacBook Air and Pro laptops
With 15.6-inch display, the upcoming Toshiba laptop screen sizes larger than both MacBook series 13.3-in Air and 15.4-in Pro models. It meant the device offers not only better visuals, but also more area to scroll finger and watching videos.
#4 The powerful companion of P50t - Toshiba Tecra W50 workstation
Not solely, but Satellite P50t is accompanied by a very powerful companion 15.6-inch Toshiba Tecra W50 workstation with 4K UHD screen resolution with Windows 8.1 OS and fastest Haswell Core i7 processor. It was also unveiled at CES 2014 and designed targeted at the high price ranged customer segment. It can be helpful in boosting sales of Toshiba laptops.
Though both laptop-makers are at each other’s throat to get a big market share yet the pricing of upcoming Toshiba laptop will decide the winner. Secondly, Apple upcoming upgraded models can also affect the direction of market sale. In other words, beating Apple seems to be the hardest nut to crack for Toshiba.
For now, I would wish leave the result on time and wait for the arrival of Toshiba laptop. I shall be back with relevant updates to this post, after getting the price and arrival of Toshiba laptop to market. If you found this post interesting, show your love by sharing with your friends.
